How I can help you
I am an experienced and established psychotherapist and supervisor who has been practicing since 2000. During this time I have worked with a wide range of clients in counselling centres and in private practice. I work with adults and couples to help them deal with issues that they find difficult in their lives. I offer a safe, friendly and confidential space where feelings and thoughts can be explored skilfully and with warmth to help the individual gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their difficulties. I work in an integrative way, i.e. I help each client in an individual way by using the appropriate therapeutic model that best suits them. What I bring to the session is my skills, intuition, experience, compassion but most of all my heart. I respect the values and beliefs of others and listen with an open heart.
Coming from a Gestalt background I focus very much on the ‘here and now’, i.e. what the client is experiencing in the present moment and making the client aware of their body and their feelings. I help increase awareness of how they might repress or avoid disagreeable memories or experiences. I encourage people to take responsibility for themselves and be active in their own healing processes. I assume that people know what is good for them and that each person is responsible for their own experiences in life. I believe in my clients and in the power of therapy so that clients can be helped to recognise, understand and begin to address problems and develop their true selves and look forward to a better future.
I am committed to my growth and learning as a psychotherapist and continue to study and attend professional workshops.
